About Meral Øzerk

Meral Øzerk has an extensive background in teaching and early childhood education. She holds a teaching degree from Cyprus, a master's degree in early childhood pedagogy from Barnevernsakademiet, and a master's degree in special education from the University of Oslo. She is also an Advanced Certified Autism Specialist (ACAS16732) from the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

She has further education in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Chapman University, USA, with a particular focus on autism, and has completed the TEACCH program at the University of North Carolina, USA. In addition, Meral is certified in several evidence-based methods, including the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Pivotal Response Training (PRT), and Video Modeling.

Meral has gained valuable hands-on experience through supervised practice at various schools and kindergartens, as well as at the Autism Center of Claremont McKenna College, USA. With nearly 40 years of experience in kindergartens, schools, and special education institutions in Norway, she has spent the past 24 years as a senior advisor at Statped.

Meral has now established her private practice in Oslo, where she provides tailored training for children with autism/ASD, parental education and guidance, and professional development courses for kindergartens and schools. Her services include individualized child teaching based on research-based methods, parental support in setting learning goals, the development of communication and daily living skills, socially significant behavior, and academic skills.

Additionally, she offers courses, training packages and workshops for professional development for teachers in schools and kindergartens. She also offers individual training for parents.
